Blaugust Day 11 ~ Nightingale armour & Seadrake disguise

Well obviously Nightingale armour isn’t in ESO but it was my favourite set from Skyrim so I thought I’d try to recreate it.  It doesn’t look *too* bad I think.  The only problem is that I can only wear it when I’m bored and running round because these are actual armour pieces, they take up your armour slots instead of the disguise/appearance slot.  I do wish they would bring in a system where we could create our own disguises.  You can at least use Wykkyd’s outfitter to save gear changes and quickly swap between armour sets and appearance sets if you really wanted to.

(Used light Breton Hood, Daedric medium jack, legs, belt, gloves, Altmer light boots – all dyed Coldharbour Ash Black)

I also recreated the Seadrake disguise with stolen clothing.  I love the Seadrake disguise and can obviously wear this disguise over normal armour.  The only problem with this one is that it has two appearances – one with tails and one without.  I much prefer the version with tails.  You can replicate the look but again these items go in your regular armour slots…

(Used aproned shirt, fingerless gloves, cuffed boots, trousers and tails – dyed using Coldharbour Ash Black and Woodsman Green)

I expect I’m not the only one to wish for appearance slots or disguise maker?

  1. Well, this Nightingale certainly came close. Well done! And I have to say that the Trousers and Tails is currently my favorite wearable in TESO.

I only just discovered the lack of cosmetic modes, myself. Since I don’t use addons, I compensate by settling on a look that requires as few swap-outs as possible, but that’s a pretty half-baked solution.

    1. thank you 🙂

the disguises & costumes are fairly good, but you can’t adapt them obviously. I know you said you don’t use addons but you could try using Wykkyd’s addon I mentioned, so you can switch between gear sets with one click? maybe? 😉

  2. Nice going on the Nightingale armor. That was one of my favorites too.
It befounds me to know there are great visual armor mechanics out there, and yet some games choose not to use them. It’s like every game has to reinvent every system as to not be called a copycat.
