#GW2 Longbow/Staff Druid build

I thought I’d share the build I’m currently using for my Druid.  As I have played a pure dps Ranger/Hunter for most of my 10 year MMO history, I’ve recently been more interested in playing a support role, especially after having switched to Loremaster in Lotro.  I can’t quite give up the pew pew pew though 😉 so I’ve tried to have the best of both worlds here.  I’m able put out a decent amount of damage with this build but also am able to heal effectively on switching to staff when needed.

I’ve gone for Zealot’s (exotic) which I’m slowly upgrading to Keeper’s (ascended) armour.  This has +power +precision +healing, plus Runes of the Druid (+vitality, +healing).  To bolster attack, I use Berserker stat accessories (+power, +precision, +ferocity).   I have kept my exotic Berserker gear (Runes of the Ranger) just in case though!

You can see my full build here, I do change out my pets, specialisations and right hand bar skills as the situation demands, but the ones I’ve linked are pretty good overall and the ones I use most often.

*edit*  I have switched out Beastmastery for Skirmishing now, so I have the lovely Spotter buff to share (+precision).

ranger build

Right hand bar skills:
Heal:
Glyph of Rejuvenation (probably best choice now, though the Troll Unguent regen may be useful in some situations)
1. Glyph of Empowerment (+damage for allies)
2. Glyph of Alignment (condition damage on use)
3. Signet of the Hunt (increased speed, passive, attack speed, active) or Frost Spirit (+damage for allies).  Still useful are Signet of Renewal (condition cures) and Sic Em (bonus dmg for you and pet).
Ultimate: Glyph of Unity (+damage or in Celestial form +healing)

Pets:
Tiger: dps pet with +might for you and allies
Bristleback: ranged dps pet

I also like the new drakes and smokescale plus some of the pre-HOT pets still have useful skills (e.g. Fern Hound – Health regen, Pink Moa – protective Screech)

Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions 🙂

  1. Thanks for the build! Been wanting to mess around with a Longbow/Druid build, this will give me a nice general idea. How do you plan on getting Keeper’s though? It was only dropped during Season 1, most of the recipes you can’t buy on The trading post either.

    1. hi and thank you 🙂

re: Keeper’s – I made another stat ascended armour and then used an exotic Zealot’s insignia and the mystic forge to change to Keeper’s 🙂
